Mobile home, location

What is it?

If you have a mobile home, you cannot park it just anywhere. The municipality has special parking spaces for mobile homes. Ask the municipality where these parking spaces are and whether you are allowed to park your mobile home there. If you are allocated a parking space, you will need an environmental permit to park your mobile home there.

How does it work?

In the eyes of the law, mobile homes are equivalent to permanent homes. Therefore, mobile homes must meet comparable construction requirements, such as:

  • The site must be connected to gas, water, electricity, and telephone services.
  • Mobile homes must be positioned 5 meters apart.
  • A maximum of 1 person per 6 m² may live in the mobile home.

What to do.

  • If you want to be eligible for a pitch, register with the municipality. You can also register with a housing association that rents out mobile homes.
  • If you want to place your mobile home on a pitch, you must apply for an environmental permit at.
  • Ask the municipality whether you also need to apply for a residence permit and, if necessary, a housing permit.
