 In week 24, contractor De Krom will begin work in Breugel on the paving stones and cobblestones in the streets. The work will take several weeks.

• The race will start on Thorbeckelaan in Breugel
• The work will proceed neighborhood by neighborhood
• As soon as the contractor finishes in Breugel, he will move on to Son and other areas.

No detours

Given the scope of the work, no detour will be implemented at this time. Disruption will be minimal.

• What: Hedge trimming
• Where: Son en Breugel
• When: June 8, 2026

During the week of June 8, 2026, Van Esch will begin trimming the hedges on behalf of the municipality. We aim to have all the hedges trimmed before the construction industry’s summer break. The contractor will start at Eindhovenseweg. 

They will then head toward Sonniuswijk, then to Breugel, and finish at Ekkersrijt. The schedule is subject to weather conditions. This work ensures that the hedges and landscaping remain neat, safe, and well-maintained. This year, the contractor is using a new, fully electric machine, an AllTrec 8015F. 

While the pruning is underway, you may experience some inconvenience, such as noise from the machinery or work being done on your street. We appreciate your understanding.

What: Replacing and upgrading power lines in Son and Breugel
Where: In the neighborhoods in Son and Breugel.
When: as of April 2025

Enexis Netbeheer is going to expand the power grid in Son en Breugel. Together we are generating more and more sustainable energy with, among other things, solar panels and we are using more power for electric cooking, electric driving or a heat pump. Not only in Son & Breugel, but throughout the Netherlands. The electricity grid as constructed in the past is not equipped for this. This requires new, stronger cables in the ground. Enexis is proactively expanding the power grid to prevent problems. We call this 'network reinforcement'. By strengthening the grid, the electricity supply remains reliable and safe for residents and businesses. Enexis and the municipality are working together on this. The work will be carried out by Hurkmans and Hanab.

New power cables have been laid from Thermaelaan in Son to Ekkersweijer in Best. At the spot where the extra power cables are being laid, the forest edge will be rearranged at the same time and thus considerably improved.

From April 2025, part of the power grid in the neighborhoods in Son and Breugel will also be replaced and expanded. The work consists of:

• Improving or renovating existing power houses. This is done inside the power houses and is not visible from the outside;
• The installation of new power houses;
• Excavation to replace and reinforce cables, in the street and under the sidewalk.
