We’re doing it together in Son en Breugel!
Living well and aging gracefully in our own neighborhood works better when we look out for one another and lend a helping hand. Not only is this enjoyable, but it also helps ensure that Health remains Health to those who need it most. Through “We Do It Together in Son en Breugel,” residents, Health and welfare organizations, and the municipality of Son en Breugel are joining forces to build a strong, socially connected neighborhood. The initiative builds on existing initiatives in the village, such as DE STAP naar gezonder and Son & Breugel Verbindt.
“We Do It Together in Son en Breugel” focuses on Map what’s already happening in the village centers. What’s going well, where are the opportunities, and how can residents support one another even more? By answering these questions together, we’ll gain a clear picture of how we can make living and community life even better. Think of new activities, a bike or vending machine, or practical improvements, such as more trash cans on the streets.
Talking Together
From April 2 through 17, 2026, stakeholders—including residents and staff from Health and welfare organizations—will be present at various locations throughout the village. They will also visit the neighborhoods to talk with residents. For example, they may ask questions such as: How are you doing? What is it like to live here? Do you participate in activities? Is there anything missing in your neighborhood? Residents are warmly invited to share their experiences and ideas.

Based on these discussions, a neighborhood connection map is created. It shows what’s going on and what the community needs. Afterward, residents and organizations work together to implement wishes and ideas wherever possible.
