Where are the charging stations located in Son en Breugel?
More and more residents are driving electric or hybrid. Not everyone has their own driveway to charge at home. Therefore, the municipality places charging stations in public spaces that anyone with a charging pass can use. This way there is always a charging station nearby.
Where do we provide enough charging stations?
We monitor the use of charging stations at set times. When it appears that it is too busy, we place additional charging stations. To do this, we use a calculation method developed by the provinces of North Brabant and Limburg.
How does the municipality choose a site for a charging station?
A charging station must be accessible and safe for everyone. That's why we install it:
- Always in public spaces and between two parking spaces.
- At a sufficient distance from trees, trash cans and windows or doors of homes.
- Close to the power grid (within 25 meters).
- Never on asphalt or concrete.
If there is already a charging station on the street, we try to put the new one next to it. That way drivers find a free charging station or parking spot faster.
Where will new charging stations be located?
The municipality has a database of possible locations. Vattenfall InCharge regularly checks in which neighborhoods the charging pressure is too high. From the municipal list, new locations are then proposed. These are then assessed by the municipality. Sometimes the municipality itself proposes a location, for example near a disabled parking space or new construction. Residents can no longer apply for a new public charging station themselves.

Why does a traffic order come with a charging station?
With a traffic decree, we regulate that the parking spaces near the charging station can only be used by cars that are actually charging. This way, the spot will remain available. Can I object to a charging station?
Yes, this is possible. Interested parties can object to the traffic decision within six weeks of publication. Please note that this concerns only the parking function and not the charging station itself.
Will this affect the power grid?
No, the charging stations are connected to a small consumption connection. Space has been reserved on the grid for that purpose. New charging stations are also prepared for grid-aware charging. This means that the time and speed of charging can be smartly adjusted so that the electricity grid is less heavily burdened.
What can the municipality not take into account?
We cannot take into account street parking pressures or residents' personal preferences.
