Stoking a fire

What is it?

It is prohibited to burn (waste) materials in the open air unless an environmental permit, as referred to in Section 2.1(e) of the Wabo, has been granted for this purpose.

Art. 5.34 General Municipal Regulation

The prohibition does not apply as far as having on private (own) property is concerned:

  • lighting through candles, torches, etc.
  • ambient fires such as patio fireplaces and fire pits, if no wastes are burned,
  • fire for cooking, baking and roasting, provided it does not create a hazard, nuisance or nuisance to the surrounding area.

The college does not grant exemptions for the burning of prunings. Prunings should henceforth either be shredded, or disposed of at the waste disposal site, or they can be made into logs. For the burning of campfires at, for example, the scouts,exemptions can be requested and granted under the imposition of Requirements .

The college also decided not to organize its own Christmas tree burnings anymore, instead proceeding to shred the trees....

What to do.

You request the exemption from the municipality. When doing so, please provide the following information:

  • the type of waste incinerated
  • the location of the fire
  • the date, start time and duration of the fire
