Schutjes Premium Butcher Shop Celebrates Its 125th Anniversary

The reason for applying for the title of “Purveyor to the Royal Household” is the company’s 125th anniversary. The way in which successive generations of the Schutje family have shaped the butchery trade and the position the butcher shop has earned in society were key reasons for His Majesty the King to grant the right to use the title “Purveyor to the Royal Household.”

Keurslagerij Schutjes is a small, family-owned business where the butcher’s trade has been passed down from father to son(s) for decades. The company is deeply rooted in the Son and Breugel community. The business began in October 1900 as Schutjes Butcher Shop on Dommelstraat and has been known as Keurslagerij Schutjes since 1970. Since 2007, the butcher shop has been located on 17-September Square. For 125 years now, this family of entrepreneurs has been committed to quality, driven by a passion for their craft, and is a socially responsible business.

The butcher shop is a modern business that keeps pace with current trends. The owner is taking significant steps toward building a forward-looking and sustainable business by placing a strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility and related sustainability initiatives in his business operations.
