Pumptrack opening Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2025

On Wednesday afternoon, December 10, 2025, we will celebrate the grand opening of the new pump track. At 2:45 p.m., Alderman Boersma will give a short speech, after which he will cut the ribbon and officially open the track. Initiators Willem, Jack, and Chiem have been personally invited to attend. After that, it will be time for everyone present to try out the pump track. Everyone in Son en Breugel is cordially invited to attend this festive and long-awaited moment. There is limited parking, so we ask everyone to come by bike if possible.

Commissioning of the pump track

After its opening on December 10, 2025, the pump track will be available for use. The rules for the pump track are similar to those for the playground: the track is closed before sunrise and after sunset. In addition, everyone is expected to treat each other with respect. The special investigating officers (BOAs) of the municipality of Son en Breugel will keep an extra eye on things.

Thanks to the initiators

In 2021, friends Willem, Jack, and Chiem started a petition for the construction of a pump track in Son en Breugel. "It brings people together, it's sporty and, above all, it's great fun. You can do all sorts of things there: scootering, cycling, skateboarding and much more," say the initiators. The petition was signed more than 850 times. The youth council supported the plan and submitted a council proposal, which was also approved by the municipal council. We then researched suitable locations, submitted a grant application, and selected a pump track builder. This task was carried out by Velosolutions, which constructed the track in just four weeks. Thanks to Willem, Jack, and Chiem, many children in our municipality can now enjoy the new pump track together.
