Views procedure supra-regional cooperation MRE
The council decides to submit an opinion and inform the Executive Board of the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region of the council's decision.
The zienswijze is about:
- The draft arrangement and draft cooperation agenda between the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region and the Municipality of Meierijstad;
- The draft arrangement and draft cooperation agenda between the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region and the municipality of Weert;
- The draft arrangement and draft cooperation agenda between the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region and the Municipality of Venlo.
The outlook calls for attention to additional A50 access, Brainport HUB, coordination of the housing program with the province, the level of facilities and nature and landscape.
Lift secrecy memo New Street 45 and 47.
The council decides to lift the secrecy on the memo 'Nieuwstraat 45 and 47 in Son en Breugel' dated June 24, 2025.
On this memo, when the appropriation was made available, an obligation of secrecy had been placed because the purchase was not yet final and therefore it was not desirable to publish the details.
Second Board Report 2025
The council decides:
- To adopt the second administrative report 2025;
- To deposit the positive result after the second administrative report 2025 of €572,860 in the free-spending reserve;
- To approve the various deposits and withdrawals to reserves and provisions, as proposed in this second administrative report 2025;
- Agree to the list of investments and projects;

The management report is an interim financial account from the college to the council, explaining deviations (advantages and disadvantages) and the reallocation of resources.
Budget 2026 and multi-year estimate 2027-2029
The council decides
- Adopt the 2026 budget with the understanding that the project-based work reserve as listed in the Schedule of Reserves and Provisions (page 116) will be released and the available funds transferred to the Free Spending Reserve (amendment);
- To take note of the 2027-2029 multi-year estimate;
- Adopt the first budget amendment 2026.
The 2026 budget and multi-year estimate 2027-2029 build on the 2026-2029 Framework Memorandum. In addition, autonomous developments have been calculated and the college proposes budget adjustments. Changes in laws and regulations sometimes necessitate additional financial resources.
The council adopted the following motions during the budget hearing:
Motion Tourist tax for expats and foreign workers
The council asks the college:
- To work out a cost-benefit analysis for a tourist tax that would also apply to expatriates and foreign workers who are not registered in the municipal database;
- hereby take into account the rates and methods already used by other municipalities;
- Present the results of the analysis to the council no later than the first quarter of 2026.
Motion Good arrangements deserve good communication
The council asks the college:
- critically evaluate the accessibility and effectiveness of all communications around income schemes;
- Monitor the trends in the number of residents at risk of experiencing poverty according to the poverty policy definitions;
- Present the information in decision points 1 and 2 to the City Council periodically Monitor Social Domain.
Motion More snags for the tasks Part II
The council asks the college:
- actively use the upcoming cabinet formation to draw the attention of the forming parties to the structural financial problems of municipalities;
- herewith once again using the credo "More bang for the buck."
- share this motion with the (future) (in)formateur(s), Lower House, the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, the VNG and the Province of North Brabant;
- in consultation with the Municipal Clerk’s Office Office to also call on other municipalities to jointly reinforce this message.
Motion Ensure accessible and focused music education.
The council asks the college:
- In developing the proposed budget cut, ensure that music education remains financially accessible to all children;
- Revise the current subsidy scheme from a generic allowance to a targeted support, so that funds primarily reach residents who need them most;
- To share the elaboration of this with the council for information.
Motion Together Against Violence
The council asks the college:
- If possible, following examples from other municipalities, to work with community partners and concerned residents to set up a structural awareness campaign in line with "Orange the World.
- To link this campaign from 2026 annually, in the period from November 25 to December 10, to that year's theme around violence prevention, with an explicit focus on the various forms of violence - both private and public.
- Leverage this campaign to:
- educate and increase knowledge (including among the City Council) on the subject;
- collaborate with relevant partners such as police, GGD, Safe Home and welfare organizations;
- encourage local initiatives that contribute to awareness, prevention and social safety.
- If necessary, submit a proposal to the City Council on the occasion of the1st Administrative Report 2026 to obtain the necessary (structural) resources for the requested awareness campaign.
Tax Ordinances 2026
The council adopts the following tax ordinances:
- Ordinance Waste Levy 2026;
- Market Fee Ordinance 2026;
- Ordinance Precario Tax 2026;
- Ordinance cleaning fees 2026;
- Ordinance Sewer Levy 2026;
- Dues Ordinance 2026 with accompanying fee table;
- Property Tax Ordinance 2026.
