Citizens' initiative proposal for a Bailey Bridge monument
The council decides:
- to declare the citizens' initiative proposal regarding the placement of the Bailey Bridge monument inadmissible;
- forward the request for processing to the competent authority, the board;
- to request the college to inform the city council about the handling of the request.
The council has declared the citizens' initiative proposal inadmissible because the subject does not fall within the council's powers, but within those of the municipal executive.
The council emphasizes that a motion on this subject was adopted in December and that the council will continue to monitor the dossier closely.
First amendment to the Rules of Procedure of the Municipal Council 2025
The council adopts the first amendment to the Rules of Procedure of the Son en Breugel Municipal Council 2025.
On February 27, 2025, the municipal council adopted new Rules of Procedure. It later became apparent that the article on citizen members could be interpreted in several ways.
The article has been amended: Each political group may appoint a maximum of one citizen member per council term who was not on the list of candidates for the municipal elections.
Instructions for the clerk 2026
The council adopts the instructions for the registrar of the municipality of Son en Breugel 2026.
The registrar always performs his duties on behalf of the municipal council. It is therefore important to record which tasks the council registrar performs on behalf of and in the name of the municipal council and how this is done. The 2020 instructions have been updated.
Wmo Regulation 2026
The council adopts the Social Support Act (Wmo) 2026.
The old regulation, adopted in 2020, has been amended in response to case law and practical experience. The following changes have been made, among others: the structure and glossary have been revised, various topics have been elaborated in more detail, and Requirements personal contributions have been harmonized.
Youth policy
The council adopts the Youth Policy 2026.
In the 2022-2026 administrative agreement, the council decided that children and young people deserve our full attention. Work began in 2023 on a new Youth Policy, including an extensive participation process. The policy document contains an overarching vision and ambitions with various concrete objectives. The goal is to create a pleasant, safe, and stimulating environment where youth and young people can develop and reach their full potential.
Motion Indicators Youth and Young People Policy
A motion was passed on the subject of youth policy:
The council asks the college:
1. to produce a periodic overview of the social indicators of the Youth Policy 2026;
2. to take this overview into account when determining the implementation agenda and also to integrate it into any renewal or revision of youth policy when this is drawn up in the future;
3. to discuss the intended social indicators of this youth policy with the council in an advisory session in the second quarter of 2026.
