Public decision list city council meeting March 18, 2021

Repeal music education subsidy ordinance 2001

The current music education subsidy ordinance 2001 is in need of renewal. The definitions for recognized music teachers and schools are unclear, it is not possible to subsidize group lessons and there is little grip and steering. Practice shows that residents are asking about possibilities for group lessons and for young children/toddlers. With the implementation of the changes, more clarity will be provided.

  • The council decides to repeal the Music Education Grant Ordinance 2001 effective August 1, 2021.
  • The council takes note of the Music Education Subsidy Scheme 2021 and asks the college to delete Article 2.4 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Music Education Subsidy Scheme 2021 so that the subsidy scheme is made applicable to music pupils aged 6 to 18.
