Swearing-in of a council member
Mr. Martien Merks was sworn in asthe 17th council member. He was not present at the swearing-in ceremony on April 1, 2026.
Appointment and swearing-in of lay members
Mr. Riny van Eerd (VVD VOOR U!) and Mr. Albert-Jan Pomper (PRO) have been appointed and sworn in as lay members.
On April 1, 11 citizen members were appointed. They are: Nennien Boudewijns (D66), Elly Brocken (PRO), Jos de Bruin (Dorpsvisie), Bert Corbijn (CDA), Kaj den Daas (VVD VOOR U!), Cyrille Gradus (D66), Aimee Lombarts (CDA), Jelle Muijsers (Dorpsvisie), Ton Nagtzaam (CDA), Flip Verhagen (D66), and Han Werkman (Dorpsvisie).
Second extension of the accountant's engagement
The board has decided to appoint Crowe Foederer as the auditor for the 2027 fiscal year.
In 2021, the board appointed Crowe Foederer BV as the company’s auditor for the fiscal years 2021 through 2024. In 2024, the contract was extended to cover the fiscal years 2025 and 2026. The contract may be extended one additional time for a single fiscal year.
The appointment of an auditor by the city council plays an important role in ensuring financial discipline and accountability.
First Amendment to the 2019 Regulation on the Audit Committee of the Municipality of Son en Breugel
The council adopts the first amendment to the 2019 Son en Breugel Municipal Audit Committee Regulation.
The committee consists of three council members. It often happens that a member is unable to attend. To make the committee less vulnerable, the number of members is now set at no more than the number of council factions.

The council decides:
- Following the “City Council and Social Media” pilot project, to use the city council’s social media accounts on an indefinite basis to post messages on behalf of the Son en Breugel City Council;
- To establish a council working group on social media and to appoint Willie Horden, Aimee Lombarts, Marnix Thunnissen, and Collinda Verhoeve as members of this working group;
- Any costs should be covered by the council budget, up to a maximum of €500 per year.
Appointment of the session chair
The council decides to appoint Ingebord Höld as chair of the session.
