9 Outsourcing consultant function pupil transport

The municipality is responsible for administering Pupil Transport. This is a statutory duty. The policy is laid down in the local Pupil Transport Regulation. On application, the municipality determines whether a pupil is entitled to group transportation or any financial compensation. A transport company is contracted to transport the pupils. The task "investigation, assessment and decision on application Pupil Transport" (in short: the consultant function Pupil Transport) was until recently performed by KCC of Service Dommelvallei. This task has been transferred to the municipality as of July 1, 2023. Due to the small size of the required capacity, the elimination of vulnerability and a high quality service, it is proposed to outsource the consulate function of pupil transport as of January 1, 2024.

College Decision:

  • To enter into an agreement with Forseti to perform the student transportation consultant function effective January 1, 2024;
  • Cover the costs associated with outsourcing this task within Program 2, Pupil Transport budget.
