Advisory session Mobility Plan

The municipality is working on the creation of a Mobility Plan. The Mobility Plan contains our vision on mobility and how we want to implement this vision. Our vision is in line with the Regional Mobility Vision 2040 that is currently being drawn up, but we do have our own priorities. The Mobility Plan sets out how we can improve safety, quality of life, and accessibility in the future. Among other things, we are looking at the desired layout of our roads for car traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, and public transport. In addition to the layout of roads, we are also looking at the current and desired behavior of road users.
The Mobility Plan also contains an assessment of the current traffic situation in the municipality. For example, what is the state of traffic safety? Is the center of Son safe and easily accessible for cyclists and pedestrians? What nuisance do residents experience from traffic?
The inventory phase has been completed. This phase consisted of collecting and analyzing traffic data (such as accident figures and traffic counts) and gathering input from residents and other stakeholders. This phase has identified areas of concern in the field of traffic, possible solutions, and dilemmas. We want to discuss these areas of concern, possible solutions, and dilemmas with the municipal councilors. This will provide direction for the further development of the mobility plan.

The council decides:

  1. to approve the memo with the subject "Advisory session Mobility Plan";
  2. to submit the presentation "Presentation advisory session political evening" to the council in an advisory session.

Credit increase for redevelopment of recycling center

Following the council decision dated June 22, 2023, entitled "Future-proof recycling center," the preliminary design was further developed into a final design, a descriptive document was drawn up, and a management estimate was prepared on this basis. Because the desire is to build in a modular and circular manner, there are changes to the council proposal of June 22, 2023. Circular construction leads to a higher investment amount but lower capital costs. The municipal executive is submitting the credit increase to the municipal council.

The council decides to submit a credit increase to the municipal council for the redevelopment of the recycling center for the renovation of the recycling center and for the KCA Unit.

Policy on abuse and improper use

With the introduction of accountability, the council is responsible for, among other things, the abuse and improper use criterion. The policy concerns the prevention of abuse and improper use of municipal property and (financial) arrangements. The BBV committee recommends that an overarching policy be drawn up for these management measures.

The council decides to adopt the policy on abuse and improper use.

Variant study for access to A. Jansen BV, Kanaaldijk Zuid 24

On August 24, 2022, the Administrative Law Division of the Council of State completely annulled the zoning plan "Ekkersrijt; Jansen Kanaaldijk Zuid 24." The Council of State instructed us to take a new decision within 52 weeks and to announce this in the manner prescribed by law. To comply with this, a study was conducted into various access options for the commercial plot at Kanaaldijk Zuid 24. Based on this study of alternatives, a careful assessment was made and it is proposed to maintain access to the Kanaaldijk Zuid 24 plot via the Terraweg.

College Decision:

  1. to propose to the council that it take note of the variant study “Accessibility A. Jansen B.V. Son en Breugel”;
  2. to propose to the council that it express its preference for option 1.1 from this options study as the most desirable and suitable access route to the business location at Kanaaldijk Zuid 24;
  3. inform the municipal council of Best in writing about the considerations made and the council proposal;
  4. Granting portfolio holder the authority to amend the letter to the municipality of Best where necessary.
