6. Ideal Vision for Public Transportation
The Brainport region is growing rapidly, making good public transportation increasingly important. That is why the public transportation plans for the BOVENS and Oost subregions have been updated. These plans outline the key goals for improving public transportation and align with Son en Breugel’s mobility vision. The municipal executive has adopted the plans and is informing the city council about them, along with updates on Bravoflex, the Southeast Brabant public transportation concession, the Brabant north-south bus connection, and real-time travel information (DRIS).
College Decision:
- to adopt the vision statement for the BOVENS public transit subregion;
- to adopt the vision statement for the Eastern Public Transportation Subregion;
- to finalize the text regarding current public transportation information and include it in the next council newsletter;
- Draft text for Alderman for the RIB.
7. Support Survey for BuitensteBinnen Child Care
BuitensteBinnen Elementary School is currently the only elementary school in the municipality that does not offer on-site daycare and/or preschool. The Platoo School Board has indicated that this affects the school’s appeal to (prospective) parents. Combining education and childcare aligns with the municipality’s policy objectives. However, the school location on Doormanlaan has a history of concerns raised by local residents regarding traffic, parking, and quality of life, among other issues. Research firm ZorgfocuZ has therefore been asked to conduct an independent public support survey regarding the potential addition of childcare at BuitensteBinnen elementary school on Doormanlaan. The survey is intended to provide insight into the extent and nature of support among local residents, so that future administrative and political decision-making can be carried out carefully and with a solid foundation.
The municipal executive has decided to adopt the text regarding the feasibility study on childcare at BuitensteBinnen and to include it in a supplementary council information letter.
