4. Political Evening, May 21, 2026

The council has decided to take note of the program for the Political Evening on May 21, 2026.

5. Decision on an objection to an environmental permit

On November 27, 2025, the municipal executive decides to grant an environmental permit for the temporary use of part of an industrial warehouse as a shelter for cattle. On December 18, 2025, the municipal executive receives an objection to the aforementioned decision. The Objections Committee recommends that the objection be declared admissible but unfounded and that the contested decision be upheld.

College Decision:

  1. Declare the objection admissible;
  2. to declare the objection unfounded and to uphold the contested decision;
  3. For the reasoning behind the decision, please refer to the opinion of the Appeals Committee of the Dutch Association of Municipalities (

6. Purchase of shares in Respectrum Son en Breugel B.V./New regulations for users of the Wolfswinkel Cemetery and Crematorium

The municipality is a shareholder in Respectrum Son en Breugel BV (the funeral home). This is the organization that manages the Wolfswinkel Cemetery and the crematorium. One of the shareholders is selling their stake. The municipality may purchase the shares on a pro-rata basis.
In addition, the funeral home has new regulations that need to be formalized.

The municipal executive decides:

  1. to purchase the shares, each with a par value of €1, on a pro rata basis;
  2. to approve the “Rules and Regulations for Users of the Wolfswinkel Cemetery and Crematorium.”

7. Introduction of a tourist and lodging tax

This topic has been postponed.

8. 2025 Annual Report on Child Care

The municipality is responsible for overseeing and enforcing the quality of child care. Each year, the municipality reports on these tasks to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (Education Inspectorate) by completing a questionnaire.

The municipal executive decides:

  1. to approve the responses to the 2025 Child Care Annual Report questionnaire for the municipality of Son en Breugel;
  2. to approve the text titled “2025 Annual Report on Child Care” and include it in the next council information letter.
