Our air must be cleaner

The air in the Netherlands has been getting progressively cleaner in recent years. This is good news, but unfortunately it is not yet clean enough. Our air has to be cleaner. After all, long-term inhalation of unhealthy air can be harmful to your health.

Therefore, since 2020, municipalities, provinces and the state have been working together in the Clean Air Agreement (SLA). Son en Breugel is also participating in this. The goal? To permanently improve air quality, with a health gain of 50% in 2030 compared to 2016. This means, for example:

  • Fewer children with asthma due to air pollution.
  • Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • A higher quality of life for everyone.

Working together for cleaner air

As a resident, you yourself can contribute to cleaner air. Small actions already help:

  • Grab a bike or walk more often.
  • Travel more consciously, such as by public transportation.
  • Do not use your wood stove when it is windless.
