Draft Heating Program 2026–2030 available for public review from April 9, 2026, to May 20, 2026

We, the municipality of Son en Breugel, have drawn up a draft Heating Program for 2026–2030. This program outlines how we intend to support the transition to more sustainable heating methods in the coming years. The program contributes to our goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050.

Why a heat therapy program?

The Netherlands has committed, through national and international agreements, to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. For this reason, buildings must be heated sustainably by 2050 at the latest. In 2021, we adopted the Heat Transition Vision. The new heating program builds on this and outlines the steps for the period 2026–2030.

The heating program is an official policy document under the Omgevingswet the Municipal Instruments for the Heat Transition Act (Wgiw). The municipal council adopts the program.

Approach in Son en Breugel

We take a proactive and supportive approach. We help residents who want to make their homes or buildings more sustainable. For example, by providing information and advice and highlighting available grants.

The district heating plan is currently a draft. The plan will be available for public review from Thursday, April 9, through Wednesday, May 20. During this period, you may submit your comments. Afterward, the city council will adopt the final district heating plan.
