Some tips to stay ahead of pickpockets:

• Take as few valuables as possible.
• Put valuables away well and out of sight.
• Carry your bag in front of you as much as possible and close it tightly, with the closure facing the body.
• Do not carry a cell phone or wallet in the back pocket. That's where they stand out and are easily stolen.
• Health for an app on the phone that can transmit the location in case of theft or loss (Find my iPhone / Find my device) so the police can look for the perpetrators.
• Are you a witness or victim of (attempted) pickpocketing and do you have the perpetrator in sight? Call 911 and try to remember a clear description of the perpetrator or take a picture of the perpetrator.
