Netherlands takes big step: almost everything can be done at 1.5 meters
Vaccination against corona is going fast. More than 13 million shots have already been taken. Almost 5 million people are now fully vaccinated, and over 4 million have had their first shot. Starting tomorrow, it will also be the turn of 18-year-olds to make an appointment. This means that by mid-July, everyone who wants to be vaccinated will have had a first and often a second vaccination. We see this reflected in the infection rates and in the number of people hospitalized with Covid-19. These numbers are now dropping rapidly.
Therefore, most of the measures are no longer necessary. The cabinet has therefore decided to take step 4 of the opening plan and even increase it. From June 26, all doors will be open, with a distance of one and a half meters remaining the all-important standard. Where one and a half meters is not possible, such as in public transport, in secondary schools or at events and festivals, the obligation to wear masks applies or you can only enter with a corona ticket.
