The Netherlands takes a big step: almost everything can be done at 1.5 meters
Coronavirus vaccinations are progressing rapidly. More than 13 million jabs have already been administered. Almost 5 million people are now fully vaccinated, and more than 4 million people have had their first jab. From tomorrow, 18-year-olds will also be able to make an appointment. This means that by mid-July, everyone who wants to be vaccinated will have had their first and, in many cases, their second vaccination. We can see this reflected in the infection rates and in the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19. These figures are now falling rapidly.
Most measures are therefore no longer necessary. The government has therefore decided to implement step 4 of the reopening plan and even to expand it. From June 26, all doors will be open, with 1.5 meters of distance remaining the decisive standard. Where 1.5 meters is not possible, such as on public transport, in secondary education, or at events and festivals, face masks will be mandatory, or you will only be allowed to enter with a corona admission ticket.
