Intersection of Nieuwstraat and De Bontstraat temporarily closed

Due to the construction of a sewer connection for the Nieuwe Vloed housing project, the Nieuwstraat – De Bontstraat intersection will be closed from Thursday, September 3, through Thursday, September 10.

  • Vehicles wishing to travel via Nieuwstraat towards Ekkersrijt or Eindhoven must take a detour via the A50.
  • Traffic traveling from Eindhoven or Ekkersrijt (Eindhovenseweg and/or Kanaalstraat) toward Son will also have to take a detour via the A50. Detour signs will be posted. 
  • Pedestrians and cyclists can continue to use Nieuwstraat, but cyclists may have to dismount.

Local residents and emergency services will be informed by the contractor. The letter to residents mentions Koen van den Tillaart of Grasveld Civiele techniek as the contact person for questions about this work. He can be reached on 0492 468219.

Arriva and Hermes bus lines will operate on a modified schedule during this work.

On Friday, September 11, Nieuwstraat will once again be open to through traffic.

Further work is being carried out on De Bontstraat between the intersection with Nieuwstraat and the intersection with Jasmijnstraat, which will be completed around the weekend of Saturday, September 19. De Bontstraat, and therefore the entire De Vloed neighborhood , will therefore only be accessible via Zandstraat from September 3 to approximately September 19.
