What is it?

If you need to prove that your signature on a document is really yours, you can have it legalized. You then put your signature on the document at the municipality. The municipality will confirm with a stamp on the document that it is your signature.

What to do.

You make an appointment at the municipality.

Bring with you to your appointment:

  • the document on which you wish to place the signature
  • your valid proof of identity (passport, driver's license, Dutch identity card or foreigner's document)

Lodging/Guarantee

Is someone coming to stay with you from abroad and is not from a European Union country? Then your guest will need a guarantee and/or accommodation allowance. For the legalization of your signature(s) under the application form for lodging you can contact the municipality of Son en Breugel.

Authenticate copy of driver's license or identification

The municipality can authenticate a copy of your Dutch passport, identity card or driver's license. This proves that the copy is the same as the original document. This may be necessary for certain transactions or when you do not want to hand over the original. Costs and procedure are the same as legalization of a signature.

Cost

€12.30 per signature on a document*

*(for example: 2 signatures on 1 document = 2 x €12.30)
