Municipality of Son and Breugel places speedometer with reward
A speedometer that rewards good road behavior! This special meter of the province of North Brabant will come to the Hendrik Veenemanstraat in Son en Breugel for three weeks on June 23. All road users who stick to the speed limit of 30 km/hour there from that date will automatically put money in the piggy bank. The amount saved will be visible on the meter. Road users can save until July 13; then the meter will move on to another place in the province.
Alderman Jan Boersma: "I am pleased that the special speedometer is also coming to Son en Breugel. We know from psychology that rewarding good behavior works better than punishing wrong behavior. With good driving behavior, the road user now saves for a good cause. We therefore hope that this meter stimulates positive driving behavior. The amount saved will benefit a play facility in the center. About how we can best spend the money, we are still discussing with the youth city council."
