DIT inspection of three catering establishments in Son en Breugel

Company closed due to serious fire hazard

During an inspection of three catering establishments by the Dommelstroom Intervention Team (DIT), one catering establishment was closed yesterday due to a serious fire hazard for the business and the residence above it. The owner of the catering establishment must take various fire safety measures. Until then, the business will remain closed.

"The safety of our residents and businesses is paramount," says Mayor Otters-Bruijnen. "This closure was necessary. After all, fire safety is not a choice, but an obligation. We take action where necessary to protect lives."

The Dutch Labor Inspectorate (NLA) was present during the inspection. This agency is conducting further investigations into possible violations at the companies visited, for example in relation to working hours legislation and employment contracts. The businesses visited must submit their data this week.

The theme of the inspection was vulnerable sectors. In addition to the NLA, the following authorities were involved in the inspection: the municipality of Son en Breugel, the East Brabant police, and the Southeast Brabant Safety Region (VRBZO).

(Anonymous) reporting of suspicious situations and nuisances

One of the offenses investigated yesterday came to light through a report made via Report Crime Anonymously. By reporting incidents, residents can contribute to a safe living environment. They can report suspicious situations and/or nuisance to the DIT. This can be done by telephone to the municipality of Son en Breugel on 0499 - 491 491 or by email: informatieknooppunt@sonenbreugel.nl. Residents can also call the police on 0900-8844.
