What is it?

If you are unable to travel independently on public transportation due to a physical or mental disability, you may be eligible to use the shared taxi service. 

The shared taxi is a supplement to public transportation and regular taxis. Transportation is arranged through Taxbus. You will travel in a regular taxi or a taxi van operated by Zorgcentrale Nederland (ZCN). Occasionally, a ride may be provided by another transportation provider in the region.

The shared taxi service uses regular taxis and taxi vans. You’ll usually be traveling with other passengers. As a result, your ride may take a little longer than it would in a regular taxi. On the other hand, the cost is often lower.

What to do.

Would you like to use the shared taxi service? If so, please contact the CMD (Center for Social Participation). During a consultation, we’ll work with you to determine whether the shared taxi service is a good fit for your situation. 

The CMD can be reached on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 0499 - 491 470.

Transportation Pass

If you are eligible to use the shared taxi service, you will receive a transportation pass. With this pass, you can travel at a reduced rate.
Keep the pass in a safe place. You will need it when you book a ride or use the shared taxi service.

Travel times

You can travel with Taxbus:

  • Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to midnight;
  • On Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Transport area

With the shared taxi, you can travel within a 25-kilometer radius of Son en Breugel.

You can use the shared taxi for social activities, such as visiting family, friends, or going into town. You can also use it to travel to a doctor, specialist, or hospital. Requirements same Requirements apply to these trips Requirements to other shared taxi trips.

Transportation outside the region

Would you like to travel outside the shared taxi service area? If so, you may be able to use Valys. This is a nationwide transportation program for people with limited mobility. The municipality is not involved in this program.

Cost 

  • a base fare of €1.16 per ride;
  • €0.202 per kilometer for the first 25 kilometers;
  • €2.76 per kilometer for distances of 25 kilometers or more.
