City Council holds dialogue meeting on swimming pool subsidy 

A delegation of the City Council is organizing a dialogue meeting in De Zwaan on Wednesday, October 30, for residents and interested parties about the extension of the subsidy to Zwembad Son BV. During the meeting, factual information will be shared about the swimming pool file, also in relation to the budget, and there is room to share views. 

Residents have indicated that they would like to have a conversation with the municipal council about the swimming pool in Son en Breugel and the possibilities for extending the subsidization of the pool. In the run-up to the budget, the municipal council wants to provide an opportunity for this. Therefore an extra meeting has been scheduled in the form of a dialogue meeting.

Like many other municipalities in the Netherlands, Son and Breugel is facing financial challenges. On November 7, the municipal council will adopt the budget for 2025-2028 and must make choices. The subsidy to Son Swimming Pool BV is an example of this. 

Program of the evening

At the request of the municipal council, last year the college investigated the prospects for a swimming facility in Son en Breugel. During the meeting, the municipality will explain the results of this research. The financial dilemmas involved in this dossier will also be explained.

Through a number of statements, council members hope to gain insights from those in attendance. There is also room for a number of speakers. For example, members of Splash Swimming Club have indicated that they would like to share their views with the council and other interested parties. The city council also invites Zwembad Son BV to participate in the discussion. 

Practical information

The collaborative meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the hall of The Swan. The hall will be open from 19:15 and the meeting will start at 19:30. Registration for the meeting is not required, but it is highly desirable for the smooth running of the evening, especially if you wish to speak.
