Temporary Emergency Energy Fund for low-income residents
On April 22, 2025 (or shortly after this day), the Temporary Emergency Energy Fund will start. The Emergency Fund is specifically for low-income households with high energy costs. Residents who qualify to use the Emergency Fund will receive six months of financial assistance to pay energy bills.
Apply for support from the Emergency Energy Fund at www.noodfondsenergie.nl or through the Emergency Fund app.
The following households may be eligible:
- The household has a gross income up to 200% of the social minimum: that is a maximum of €3,400 for singles and €4,740 for cohabitants (including 8% vacation allowance, excluding supplements).
- Energy bills (depending on income) exceed 8-10% of combined gross income.
- The household has its own energy contract or pays through rent/service charges (as with block heating).
- The Emergency Fund pays the portion of the utility bill that exceeds the aforementioned income percentages.
Information on what is needed to apply, such as DigiD and other required information, can be found at www.sonenbreugel.nl/tijdelijk-noodfonds and on the Emergency Fund website.
Because of the interest, the Emergency Fund expects it to be busy during the first few days after opening. The Emergency Fund advises that if it is busy, applications should be made at a later time.
