Requesting speaking rights
You can make use of the right to speak on issues that are on the agenda of a Political Evening for the purpose of forming an opinion or passing judgment. This is also referred to as 'speaking in'.
At the beginning of the opinion-forming or judgement-forming session, you will have a maximum of 5 minutes to explain your vision on the subject. In an image-forming session, you may remain at the table afterwards to answer questions from council members or members of the public. In a judgment session, you may take a seat in the public gallery after your input.
To request speaking time, please email Municipal Clerk’s Office Office@sonenbreugel.nl. Or you can use this online form. A request for speaking time must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the session.
Please note: You can only request speaking rights for topics for which an image-forming or a judgment session is included in the Political Evening program. Speaking in on other topics is not possible. It is also not possible to speak on topics on the council meeting agenda. In these cases, you can send a letter to the City Council.
