Composition of college of mayor and aldermen

The Mayor and Aldermen (BenW) is the municipality’s executive body. The municipal council appoints the aldermen. The municipality of Son en Breugel has three aldermen. The mayor serves as the chair of the Mayor and Aldermen, and the municipal secretary serves as the advisor. 

The municipal executive is responsible for preparing and implementing council proposals, enforcing laws, and ensuring that municipal council decisions are carried out. The mayor and aldermen have divided up their responsibilities—the so-called portfolio allocation. They meet every Tuesday. These meetings are not open to the public, but an agenda and a list of decisions from each meeting are made public.
