Sewer clogging
Directly regulate
What is it?
If wastewater no longer drains properly, there may be a sewer blockage.
Many clogs are caused by improper sewer use. Check out what is allowed and what is not what you can and cannot flush down your sink, toilet and drain.
More information on sewers can be found on the Rioned Foundation website.
What to do.
Who to report a clog to depends on:
- If you are a tenant, contact the homeowner or your housing association.
- If you are a property owner/occupier, you need to fix (or have fixed) the blockage in the house sewer system yourself. Contact a plumber or unclogging company.
- A blockage on municipal land will be fixed by the municipality.
Do you suspect that the clog is on municipal land, but are not sure? Then report it to the municipality anyway. This will prevent any possible ambiguities about the bill later.
What does it cost?
Unblocking on private property is the responsibility of the owner/user.
Unblocking sewers on municipal land is for the municipality.
