DigiDSewer connection request

What is it?

The municipality provides public sewer connection on private property. If your home or business is not connected to the sewer system, you will request a connection from the municipality.

  • The municipality will provide the connection to the boundary of your property.
  • On your own property, you must provide your own sewerage.

A standard connection to the sewer system of a separated sewer system consists of:

  • 1 wastewater connection (DWA) diameter of 125 mm (pipe color red-brown);
  • 1 rainwater connection (HWA) diameter of 125 mm (pipe color gray).

The discharge capacity of pipe diameter 125 mm is 10 liters per second (=36m3 per hour).

Before installing the drainage pipes on private property, the applicant should inquire about the depth of the main sewer line. In many common situations, at the location of the plot boundary, the inside bottom of the connecting pipe must be approximately 0.50 meters below the (future) ground level of the road verge. Normally, other utilities (water, gas, electricity and telecommunication lines) located on the verge will not be affected.

What to do.

You can apply for sewer connection online.

Depending on whether the street has a mixed or separate sewer system, the municipality determines whether you need a single or double connection. With a double connection, dirty wastewater is separated from rainwater. Ask the municipality if your street has a combined or separate main sewer system.

What does it cost?

For each situation, the applicable Requirements are considered. The connection fee is determined on the basis of the actual connection costs. The connection charges for both private individuals and businesses relate to those parts of the connection pipe that are located in public land.
