Traffic rules refresher
Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14, 2025, a Refresher Course in Driving Skills 50+ was held in the Dommel House. The afternoon was provided by Veilig Verkeer Nederland (VVN). Alderman Boersma spoke a welcoming speech and wished the participants good luck!
Why this course?
Most people over 50 have had their driver's licenses for quite some time. In that time, things have also changed in terms of laws and regulations.
Safe traffic participation
Taking the course is not about right or wrong, it is about the participants learning something from it. So that they can remain mobile independently and safely for as long as possible.
Participants need not fear, of course, that attending the training will affect keeping their driver's license. It is purely about increasing and/or refreshing one's own knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
Theory and practice
The course consists of two half-day sessions. Using examples, the most important traffic rules are discussed and new rules are explained. Participants will also have ample opportunity to ask questions.
Participants can additionally take advantage of a practice drive. During the practical drive, the participant goes on the road with an experienced driving instructor. They receive feedback on their own driving style, as well as tips on how to remain a safe road user over time. Others actually use the practice drive to practice parts of driving that they find difficult with a professional.
Courses in April and October
We think road safety is very important. Residents of Son and Breugel can participate in the training for free. In April and October we organize two refresher courses 50+. You can participate by registering at VVN. Keep an eye on the announcements on our media channels!
