Public decision list city council meeting Sept. 12, 2024
Appointment credentials committee new council member
The council decides to appoint as members of the credentials committee:
- Aleyna Avci
- Peter van Dam
- Don Pasanea
Ms. Helga Helders submitted her resignation as a council member on September 5, 2024. Because of this resignation, a new council member must be appointed. Before a new council member is admitted, all requirements for council membership must be examined.
Verification of credentials, admission and swearing-in of council member A.G.M. Nagtzaam
The council decides to admit Mr. A.G.M. (Ton) Nagtzaam as a new council member of the municipality of Son en Breugel
Adjustment of WSD joint arrangement
The council approves and authorizes the college to adopt the amended WSD Joint Arrangement (GR).
There are a number of reasons why the GR must be amended:
- The direction of WSD adopted by the General Board in 2020;
- WSD has been carrying out tasks of the Participation Act since 2015, with no basis in the GR WSD. This also applies to tasks related to the Integration Act 2021 (Wi) and the Social Support Act 2015 (Wmo);
- The splitting up of the municipality of Haren which removes it as an independent participant in the GR WSD;
- The 2022 amendment to the Joint Arrangements Act (Wgr).
Budget amendment GR Blink 2024
The council decides not to submit a view on the Budget Amendment 2024 of the GR Blink and process the financial consequences in financial statements.
Local social mediation committee evaluation
The council decides:
- not to continue the Local Social Mediation Committee and not to reappoint Ms. J.N.P.M. van den Tillaart as a committee member of the Local Social Mediation Committee;
- Repeal the Son en Breugel 2022 Local Social Mediation Committee Ordinance as of April 20, 2025.
The City Council appointed a local social mediator in April 2023. In practice, there has been little demand for the local social mediator.
Additional appropriation to expand BS de Bloktempel in connection with network congestion measures and additional capacity
The council decides:
- take permanent measures to operate the expansion at Bloktempel Elementary School within the existing capacity of the power grid connection;
- expand the program of Bloktempel Elementary School to include two additional permanent classrooms;
- To make available an additional credit of on balance €988,248 to realize decision point 1 and 2.
In September 2020, the Council decided to provide credit for the expansion of Blok Temple Elementary School. Due to construction cost increases, the Council decided to provide additional credit in October 2022. The overload on the power grid is now causing the expansion to be realized but not put into operation. In order for the expansion to function, measures are needed. The cost of these measures does not fit within the current budget of the already allocated expansion.
