Study of other location for Center for Social Participation (CMD)
We are going to investigate whether the Center for Social Participation (CMD) can move to another location. The CMD has been on the1st floor in the Dommel House for the past 2 years. The Dommelhuis is very successful as a village house. Because of the many activities and the accompanying noise, it is difficult to have conversations with residents in peace and quiet at the CMD. Questions from residents are becoming increasingly complex. As a result, the number of face-to-face conversations is increasing. There are too few spaces to hold conversations in privacy. Expansion of the CMD within the Dommelhuis is not possible, without affecting the other activities in the Dommelhuis. Therefore, we will investigate whether moving to another location is an option.
"As a village hall, the Dommelhuis is a nice addition to the village. Only for residents, who come to the CMD with a personal issue, this location does not appear to be ideal. These residents need peace and privacy and there is not enough of that there," said Alderman Steven Grevink.
Privacy
Peace and privacy are important to visitors to the CMD. At the same time, there has been an increase in the complexity of residents' questions to the CMD. Because of this, there is a need for more consulting rooms that meet all the requirements around security and privacy. Within the Dommelhuis there is no room to realize more consulting rooms for the CMD, which are available all day for the CMD. Also, it is often not possible for employees to work in silence.
Village Hall
As a village hall, the Dommelhuis is a success. Every day there are activities for young and old. The departure of the CMD creates space for the village hall to grow and, among other things, increase the required number of activity and meeting facilities.
