NK tile-turning 2025
Until Oct. 31, 2025, we are once again competing in the NK tile toss. Municipalities in the Netherlands compete here for the Golden Tile and Golden Scoop. Everyone can participate by replacing tiles in their front, back, or facade gardens with greenery.
How it works.
The NK-Tegelwippen is the competition in which the whole of the Netherlands swaps tiles for plants. The municipality that wipes the most tiles wins! Enter your wiped tiles at www.nk-tegelwippen.nl/meedoen/ and they will be added to your municipality's Tile Counter. Wippers also have a chance to win great prizes.
When?
Every day from March 22 to Oct. 31, 2025 excluding holidays.
Free delivery is only possible at the Milieustraat: Industriepark Ekkersrijt 7110, Son en Breugel. The opening hours of the Milieustraat are:

- You must register the wiped tiles on the NK tile wiping website. You do this at www.nk-tegelwippen.nl/meedoen.
- Bring your confirmation email from the NK tile swapping as proof that you have registered the tiles.
- Bring your environmental pass to show that you live in the municipality.
- Each household can sign up 1 time to return their tiles for free.
- There should be no other debris, such as sand or soil, with the tiles.
Why tile rocking?
The weather in the Netherlands is becoming increasingly extreme. Heavy rain showers and long periods of heat and drought follow one another. We increasingly have to deal with problems such as heat stress and flooding, because our living environment is heavily petrified. All those stones don't cool down on a hot day and don't let water through when it rains. That rainwater can then overload the sewer system or run into your basement. More greenery counteracts this. In addition, research has shown that a greener living environment has a positive effect on our mental health.
Lots of tiles?
Do you have a really big garden and would like to make big moves and turn in more than 20 square meters of tiles?
Then please send an email to duurzaam@sonenbreugel.nl. Then together we'll see if we can make an exception.
