Mobility Vision

We strive for a safe, livable and accessible village for everyone. Unfortunately, this is currently not always and everywhere the case. This is evident from the residents' meetings and the survey last fall. Residents indicate that they are bothered by the volume of traffic on some roads in the village. In addition, cyclists and pedestrians do not always feel safe everywhere.

In the coming years, the region will continue to grow strongly in terms of population and employment. This growth also causes an increase in travel. If we do not take measures it will become even busier on the roads in Son and Breugel. The feeling of insecurity will continue or even increase.

The current traffic situation and future developments call for a new vision of how we want to deal with traffic in the municipality. The college has established this new vision in a municipal Mobility Vision. The college submits the Mobility Vision to the municipal council for discussion and decision-making.

After adoption by the City Council, further elaboration will take place in concrete projects. These include, for example, the construction of bicycle facilities, tackling local traffic bottlenecks and projects to influence behavior. We will also involve residents and other stakeholders in the development of concrete projects.
