No abuses at DIT check four locations outside Son and

Last Friday, the Dommelstroom Intervention Team (DIT) checked four locations in the outskirts of Son en Breugel. No abuses were found. The owners involved all cooperated with the inspection. They received information from employees of the DIT about the risks and signals of undermining crime and what to do in case of suspicious situations.

In many communities, farms and sheds are empty. Criminals therefore see outlying areas as ideal places for illegal activities. 1 in 5 farmers in Brabant is approached at times for renting vacant properties for unclean purposes. Hemp nurseries, drug labs and dumps of drug waste are increasingly being discovered.

With the audit, the DIT wanted to find out if there are sites that are vulnerable to criminal activity, have since been approached by criminals or have (unknowingly) made their premises available for criminal practices.

The inspection involved the following agencies: police Oost-Brabant, Safety Region Brabant Zuidoost (VRBZO), Omgevingsdienst Zuidoost Brabant (ODZOB) and the municipality of Son and Breugel.
