Area development: who should I approach with my plans?

It is wise to discuss your desired area development with your neighbors or neighbors in advance. By doing so, you can avoid problems. Neighbors or neighbors may disagree with your desired area development or have wishes about the area development. First, see if you can work it out together.

In the following situations, you are always required to consult with local residents about your plans:

  • For a housing development plan with more than 25 homes within the existing urban area including core edge zones;
  • For a housing development plan with more than 10 homes in the outlying area;
  • The realization/establishment or expansion of any business building, including demolition/new construction, regardless of environmental category, located outside the Ekkersrijt business park, with the exception of 'a home occupation or business';
  • the realization of buildings and structures without buildings for social facilities and sports, where the area of buildings and structures without buildings exceeds 500 m2;
  • the erection of wind turbines;
  • establishing solar fields.

You must submit a so-called "Participation Report" of this consultation with local residents (this is a submission requirement). Failure to do so will result in a refusal of your area development.

To prepare a "Participation Report," use the "Participation Report Form.

Sometimes it may be necessary to consult with your surroundings several times, for example because you have modified or elaborated on your plans. We then receive a separate "Participation Report" of each consultation.

Who are "local residents?

In addition to your immediate neighbors, these are those/stakeholders who will have visibility or influence from your area development. If you are in doubt or can't figure it out, we will help you. To do so, please contact the contact person handling your request.
