Liberation celebration - Wednesday, Sept. 17

This year on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 we will celebrate the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Son en Breugel. We will do this with a liberation celebration at the monument De Parachutist near the pond on the Europalaan.

Program

• At 7 p.m. the ceremony will begin. During the ceremony, after the sounding of signal Tattoo, we will hold a minute of silence to remember the liberators. Then we thank the liberators by paying a floral tribute. The Bloaskaken make a musical contribution to this ceremony.
• Around 6:30 p.m., Camp Liberty Sun vehicles will arrive on Europalaan. You can take a look at these vehicles before and after the ceremony.

Bring flower tributes of your own!

For the flower tribute, we ask everyone to bring a single flower. During the ceremony, anyone can lay a flower at the memorial.

On this day, we will hang out the flag at various locations. Will you do the same?

Please be aware of possible traffic disruption during the ceremony. A portion of Europalaan will be closed to traffic.
