The Audit Committee advises the council on all activities relevant to the proper control of the municipality in the areas of lawfulness, efficiency and effectiveness as part of the council's framework and control responsibility.

These activities are:

• the preparation of the audit protocol to be adopted by the council;
• Being the first point of contact for the auditor towards the board regarding the design and conduct of the audit;
• be a consultation platform for the auditor's proposed audit approach with the possibility of having specific attention paid to particular items or organizational units;
• be a consultation platform on the results of the audits conducted by the auditor;
• evaluating the auditor's work;
• preparing the selection of the auditor after the expiration of the auditor's contract;
• be a reconciling meeting on the proposed investigations by auditor and college;
• Advising the council on said duties;
• performing (additional) tasks on behalf of the council.
