Municipal Social Fund

What is it?

From the Municipal Social Fund, you may receive reimbursement for the cost of an Internet subscription through calendar year 2024. Any household living at or around the assistance level may qualify for an allowance towards the cost of an Internet subscription. The maximum reimbursement is €300 per year for the entire household.

The Municipal Social Fund will cease as of January 1, 2025. As of 2025, reimbursement is no longer possible. For calendar year 2024, you can still apply until April 1, 2025.

Until recently, the municipal social fund also reimbursed children's expenses for such things as education and membership in an association. You can appeal to the Leergeld Foundation for these costs.

What to do.

An application for reimbursement for the cost of an Internet subscription must be made in writing. For the calendar year 2024, you can still apply until April 1, 2025.

Do you receive Social assistance benefit benefits through the municipality? Then use the abridged application form. If you do not receive benefits through the municipality, please use the extended application form.

If you still have questions, please fill out the contact form. One of our staff will call you back.

How does it work?

You are eligible (through 2024) for the municipal social fund if:

  • You are 18 years of age or older;
  • Your income does not exceed the social assistance standard* applicable to you, plus the maximum exemption amount of €211.00.

* The amount of your Social assistance benefit depends on your income, among other things. The amount of the social assistance standard depends on your age and who you live with (for example, whether you live alone or together).
