Who is Christian Gilissen?
Born in 2011 in 's-Hertogenbosch, started playing the piano at age 4. At age 9 he composed Sonatina No.1, Op.1.
At age 10 he was admitted to the Conservatory of Tilburg, but has been at the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam in the
Young Talent department since age 12. From the age of 12 he has been giving formal piano concerts. In recent years Christian won prizes in 5 countries, but he is most proud of his dozens of -free-benefit concerts (for about 2,500 listeners) in care centers in the Netherlands and Belgium: "one-hour pieces by Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and myself." That preference is a result of never having known his grandmothers and having had to miss his grandfathers
(who loved classical music) at a very young age. Mayor Aboutaleb invited him to the benefit for Morocco and Libya and last year he played with Emma Kok. Besides his musical interests, he has been a student at the International School Eindhoven (ISE) since the age of four and lives in Berlicum. Christian wants to use music for a more beautiful world. Later he wants to become a pianist "preferably as famous as the brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen or the blind Japanese Noboyuki Tsujii. But I also want to compose: piano music and great symphonies".
You can admire this talent in our Dommelhuis that makes the hall available free of charge.
The entrance fees are 100% for the benefit of "Alzheimer". Even part of the bar proceeds in the short break will be donated to this cause.
