Breugel Bruist: Frequently asked questions and answers

1. When can MFA De Bongerd be inaugurated?

This will be done in phases beginning in the first quarter of 2025.

2. When will the outdoor space be ready?

  • Phase 1 (outdoor space The Bongerd and The Farm) expected in mid-July 2025.
  • Phase 1 planting November 2025.
  • Phase 2 (outdoor space COOP and Van Gentlaan 4) expected by the end of 2025.
  • Phase 2 planting after expected in late 2025 / spring 2026.

3. What exactly will happen in the outdoor space?

A new wider public space connection will be made between van Gent Avenue and the Farm. We will maintain the green character and in the process we will create a more open, friendly and safe environment. We will do this by:

  • Construction of new paving.
  • Construction of a green flowered wadi as a water collection and privacy buffer between homes and Farm/Bongerd. A wadi is a ditch or ditch that can hold and release water.
  • Preserving existing valuable trees and plantings and adding trees and plantings that are more resistant to changing climate conditions.
  • The construction of new and more parking spaces next to the Bongerd, on van Gent Avenue and along Asteroid Avenue.
  • Creating spots for bicycle parking.

You will find the entire presentation of the outdoor space soon on this page.

4. Will trees be removed on the Asteroid Avenue side?

To make enough room for the new sports facility, we have unfortunately removed a number of trees on the Asteroid Avenue side. These are the trees that stood against the current parking lot of De Bongerd. The trees directly on Asteroid Avenue will be retained.

The historic lumberyard grove will remain and can thus continue to grow. It also allows for the creation of a spacious, green residential space between existing homes on Weigh Scale Avenue and the sports hall.

5. I have a garden gate. Does it match the new outdoor space infill?

We will automatically contact you and we will then work with you to see how we can best fit your garden gate.

6. How will the municipality prevent future outdoor nuisances?

We cannot guarantee that you will never experience a nuisance. However, we will design the public space so that it does not invite nuisance. It will be an open, spacious residential area, with appropriate lighting.

7. Will I soon be inconvenienced by De Bongerd's terrace?

We want to keep that to a minimum. The position of the terraces is on the east and west sides of De Bongerd. There the distances between terraces and existing homes will remain as large as possible.

We discuss the use of the terrace with the future operator. We also stipulate that smoking is not allowed under the canopy on the south side.

8. Will events be allowed to be organized in De Bongerd soon?

A maximum of 12 events per year may be organized in the future Bongerd.

9. What about peeking into our home from The Bongerd?

If it appears that there are views into your home and/or garden from the upstairs of The Bongerd, we can frosted the windows of The Bongerd on that side or create a green screening.

10. How will it work with parking at De Bongerd soon? Will there be more parking spaces?

A total of 170 parking spaces are needed in the area for stores, the existing housing above the stores, the new sports hall with associated functions and the Farm. In part we are replacing existing parking spaces and in part we are constructing new ones. In addition to these 170 spaces, the future homes on the site of De Regenboog will have parking spaces on their own property.

11. When will houses be built on the site of The Rainbow?

That is not yet known.

12. I have another question/I want personal contact.

If so, please feel free to contact us at breugelbruist@sonenbreugel.nl.
